Kristin Coleman, Executive Director, Head of Employee Engagement, JPMorgan Chase, Advancing Hispanic and Latinos/Diversity, Equity & Inclusion
Kristin Coleman is a DEI Director, leading employee engagement globally for Advancing Hispanics and Latinos at JPMorgan Chase. She is responsible for increasing representation and career development opportunities for Hispanic employees at all levels, through strategic external Hispanic/Latino talent organizations, partnerships as well as through the firm’s Hispanic Executive Forums and Global Business Resource Group, Adelante.
Coleman will celebrate 20 years with JPMorgan Chase later this year, joining the firm while attending Arizona State University where she was a Maroon & Gold Scholar, Hispanic Business Alumni Scholar, and Cesar E. Chavez Leadership Institute Alumni. She has spent most of her career in HR and recruiting, leading national recruiting teams across several lines of business.
Coleman is a member of the Arizona Market Leadership Team and DEI Council, Executive DEI Lead for the Phoenix market, responsible for coordination of the cross-business localization efforts of the firm’s $30B racial equity commitment, one of several focus cities across the country.
Coleman is an Arizona native and resides in Tempe, Arizona with her husband James, and three children – Isabella, Gracie, and Jackson.
Zumiez Inc. Appoints Carmen R. Bauza as Board of Director
Zumiez Inc., an American multinational specialty clothing store, recently appointed Carmen R. Bauza to its Board of Directors. Bauza will serve as an independent Class III director, for a term expiring at the 2023 annual meeting of shareholders. Bauza will serve on the company’s Audit Committee. Bauza currently serves as a member of the board of directors of Destination XL Group Inc., where she serves on the Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee and the Cybersecurity and Data Privacy Committee. She also is a member of the board of managers of Claire’s Holdings LLC, where she serves on the Nominating and ESG Committee. Most recently, Bauza served as the Chief Merchandising Officer at Fanatics Inc. from January 2019 until April 2021. Prior to that, she was the Chief Merchandising Officer at HSN from November 2016 until December 2017 and the Senior Vice President, General Merchandise Manager Consumables, Health, and Wellness at Walmart from June 2007 to October 2016. She previously held roles at Bath & Body Works, Five Below and The Walt Disney Company. Bauza currently serves as a member of the board of trustees at Seton Hill University and as an Advisor to RoundTable Healthcare Partners.
Marta Segura, LA City’s First Chief Heat Officer
Marta Segura, a longtime environmental justice advocate has been appointed LA’s first-ever Chief Heat Officer Segura will hold the new title, in what came from a motion initially attributed to L.A. City Councilman Paul Krekorian. She becomes the first person of Latin descent to hold such a position in the United States. Los Angeles now joins other major American metropolises like Phoenix and Miami with an officer who will “oversee the City’s response to extreme heat events,” as detailed by a city press release.
In her new role, Segura will work with different city agencies to create a heat action plan that includes an early warning system, a response plan to mobilize different agencies and strategies to reduce extreme heat exposure.
